Winner of the Best Local Theatre in the Little Ankle Biters’ Awards 2019, Norden Farm is a great place to bring the kiddies over the Easter holidays with everything from shows, to films, to arts and crafts, and more. Here are our highlights for the school holidays…

The Enormous TurnipThis Easter bring the children to Norden Farm Centre for the Arts in Maidenhead to see much-loved children’s classic story The Enormous Turnip which promises unswerving energy, great puppetry and live music.

Quest Family Fest runs over the Easter Holidays at Norden Farm Centre for the Arts. You’ll find a range of fantastic activities over the break to keep children busy and having fun, including; Next Steps Dance Intensive, Art Daze, Make a Play in Three Days, Superhero Spectacular, and much more! Singalong Concertini with the R’n’Beatles – Bring the whole family and sing your socks off to belters Long Tall Sally, Twist and Shout, and Rock ‘n’ Roll Music. Arts & Crafts Sessions – This Easter Norden Farm will have a range of craft activities taking place daily from 8 – 18 April (apart from Sunday 14 April) to keep children entertained. Sessions are 45 minutes and they will vary so you can create something new everyday. Suitable for children aged 5 – 8 years and costs £5.00 per child. To find out more and book, click here.

Storytelling – Join the storytellers in the magic storytelling den over the school holidays for interactive storytime sessions. Runs from 8 – 18 April (apart from Sunday 14 April) and is suitable for children aged 3 – 7 years. Costs £2.00 per child. To find out more and book, click here.

The BAFTA award-winning children’s show In the Night Garden returns to the stage with a brand new show, and you can catch it this Easter at The Hexagon Theatre in Reading on 10 & 11 April. Children will see all their favourite characters beautifully brought to life with full-size costumes, magical puppets and enchanting music. The show runs on Wednesday 10 April at 1.00 and 4.00pm, and Thursday 11 April at 10.00am and 1.00pm.

There’s loads going on down at the fabulous Jelly Lounge in Windsor town centre this Easter with an action packed agenda of workshops and camps. You can expect sessions like; Mini Chef, Pottery Café, Arts & Crafts and Slime Club.

This family club has an impressive soft play and café area where parents can relax serving a great range of healthy food (and even enjoy a cheeky G&T), so there really is something for everyone. The Jelly Lounge won Best Family Friendly Place to Eat in the Little Ankle Biters Awards 2019.

Head down to Woodford Park in Woodley for all the fun of the fair this weekend. Running from 6 to 7 April, Carters is an amazing experience run by a local family that’s been entertaining families in Berkshire for 40 years. The fair season may have just kicked off, but you can expect loads of fun from the World’s largest vintage travelling funfair.

The fair is free to get in to, and the rides operate on a token basis. You can buy tokens on the day at the fair, or online here now. You’ll also find plenty to fill tummies with food and drink vans, candy floss and sweets and treats.

Throughout the Easter holidays they will be running the Great Easter Egg Hunt, where little ones can go off in search of the giant Easter Eggs. You can also get involved in lamb feeding, where kiddies can get hands-on and help feed the orphan lambs at Bucklebury Farm.

Easter activities looking at 300 years of royal fashion. Become a dedicated follower of royal fashion by making your own hat or headdress in an art workshop. On 8, 9, 10, 15, 16 ,17 April you can also listen to an interactive talk and children can transform themselves into a Tudor, Stuart or Georgian Monarch. Talks will take place at 11.30am, 1.30pm and 2.30pm.

Activities are free with standard entry to the Castle. Remember, if you have a RBWM Advantage Card, admission to the Castle is free too.

Meet the Bugs this Easter – 10 & 17 April –  Animal keepers are giving visitors the chance to get up close and personal with some of the residents that live at the park. So if your little ones would like to experience the world of giant insects, then pop along to the park from 1.30 – 3.30pm.

Build a Mini Bug Hotel Workshop – 10 & 17 April, 10.30am – 12.30pm – With more than 10 million insects in the world, all of which need somewhere to live, come down and join in at the park helping bugs to be snug by building them a mini bug hotel, giving them somewhere to eat, sleep and be safe. If you want to help bugs in your own back garden, staff will be on hand to help wannabe bug hotel builders make their very own bug hotel to take home. At a cost of £5.00 per hotel it’s a great way to help eco-systems and habitats in your own back yard.

This Easter, use all your senses to become nature detectives and learn more about the treasure trove of plants and wildlife that makes Windsor Great Park their home. Working alongside Berks, Bucks and Oxon Wildlife Trust come on a journey to discover the amazing local wildlife. Starting from the Savill Building, follow the trail and use your detective skills to look for clues in nature, whilst enjoying the beauty of the Great Park around you.

The trail is suitable for all ages as well as being suitable for pushchairs and wheelchairs, and at approx. 2km should take about an hour. The trail costs £3.50 per sheet and there’s a small prize available at the end of the trail.

Cadbury’s Easter Trail – Springing into Life at Cliveden National Trust

6 – 23 April 2019, 10.30am – 3.30pm

Explore Cliveden’s Spring gardens on the annual Easter Trail where children will leap into spring with an interactive, nature-themed Easter trail. At the end of the trail children will receive a special Cadbury chocolate egg, or a non-sugary alternative.
