February Fun at Basildon Park National Trust, Reading

This weekend, and throughout half term, there’s plenty of fun to be had for families at Basildon Park.

Parkland Trail – Get exploring the estate and discover how it’s cared for on this new children’s trail. Pick up a trail leaflet and map at Reception for £2.00 and get going! The trail runs from 10.00am – 5.00pm. To find out more, click here.

Storytelling in the Stableyard Shop – Let your imaginations go wild as we read childhood favourite books in the shop. This event is free (normal admission to Basildon Park applies) and is suitable for children of all ages. Click here for more information.

 

Snowdrops at Welford Park, Newbury

Why not pay a visit to Welford Park in Newbury, home of Great British Bake Off don’t cha know, to see their stunning snowdrops in the woodland area and along the River Lambourn. The 2019 snowdrop season runs from 30 January – 3 March. Welford Park is open from 11.00am – 4.00pm. You’ll also find a tea room serving homemade cakes, hot and cold drinks and light lunch options. You may even be walking in Paul Hollywood’s footsteps…

Prices: £8.00 adults, £4.00 children (4 – 16 years), children under 4 are free. Dogs kept on leads are welcome. Donations go to West Berkshire charities. Closed on Mondays and Tuesdays.

Under the Sea at The Lookout Discovery Centre, Bracknell

Enter the magical world of the ocean as we take a journey through the wonders of the deep. Discover the creatures that live there and help protect them through different challenges. Can you help us save our seas? Shows run at the weekends and during the February Half Term school holiday at 11.00am, midday, 2.00pm and 3.15pm. The show costs £1.95 per person on top of your admission fee to The Lookout. Shows are suitable for primary school aged children and don’t need to be booked in advance, just buy your tickets from reception when you arrive.

Spring in your Step Family Trail at the Nature Discovery Centre, Thatcham

How well do you know the Nature Discover Centre and its wildlife? This trail will help you explore the reserve and encourage you to look a little more closely at some of our natural neighbours and maybe some early signs of spring. Bring the family, get your coats and gloves on, get some fresh air, have fun and learn a little more about your favourite local wildspace. This trail will be available from this weekend and over the February half term from 16 – 24 February, 11.00am – 3.00pm. There’s a charge of £1.50 per child which includes a small prize.

Discover Windsor Castle under siege by taking part in the art workshop where you can build your very own 3D castle.

Family Trail at Cliveden National Trust

16 – 24 February 2019

This weekend bring the children to Cliveden for their fantastic trail (which runs throughout half term). Get outside and enjoy the fresh air and the gorgeous grounds at this National Trust estate in Berkshire. Cliveden is home to many wild and wonderful trees ready for little ones to learn about. In this trail they’ll take on the role of a nature detective and explore Cliveden’s gardens and woodlands. At the end of the trail children will make a tree-themed craft to take home with them. The trail runs from 10.00am – 2.30pm, it’s £2.00 per child and suitable for children aged 3 years +. There’s no need to book, just turn up and join in. Admission to National Trust applies unless you have membership.
