Winter Wander Round Trail at Nature Discovery Centre, Thatcham

21 December 2018 – 6 January 2019

A Winter challenge for the family, follow the trail, answer the clues, and come back to the centre to receive praise and a prize!

How well do you know the Nature Discovery Centre and its winter wildlife? This trail will help you to explore the reserve and encourage you to look a little more closely at some of our natural neighbours. Bring the family, get your coats and gloves on, get some fresh air, have fun and learn a little more about your favourite local wildspace.

The trail runs from 11.00am – 3.00pm and costs £1.50 per person.

Christmas at Windsor Castle

This winter, all the family will enjoy exploring the Christmas display at Windsor Castle, including a striking Nordmann Fir tree which forms the centrepiece of the festive display at the castle.

For the children – Also every Saturday in December bring the kiddies to the Castle for fun festive activities which will help bring Christmas to life with art and craft workshops. Make your own Christmas tree decoration to take home. These activities are included in your standard admission to the castle. Runs 11.00am – 3.00pm.

Aladdin at The Hexagon, Reading

The 2018 family pantomime at The Hexagon in Reading is Aladdin. And even more exciting is that Cbeebies superstar Justin Fletcher will once again be returning. Paul Morse, one of the most loved of Dames, has also confirmed we will once again be teaming up with Justin for some more sloshing around and slapstick high-jinx.

Runs on Saturdays from 10 November 2018 – 6 January 2019, and during Bracknell school holidays. Show times are: 11.00am, midday, 2.00pm & 3.15pm.

Christmas wouldn’t be Christmas without a visit with the kiddies to an ice rink, showing the world you still have your Jayne Torvill moves. Ahem. And if that doesn’t quite materialise, there’s always the trusty penguins to scoot around on. Or the bar for a mulled wine or three. This year Windsor On Ice returns to Alexandra Gardens from 17 November 2018 – 6 January 2019. And we’re very excited to see it back again.

This Christmas, Dick Whittington and his cat are getting ready to help celebrate 80 years of traditional pantomime at the beautiful Theatre Royal Windsor. Get ready for even more laughs, splosh and Days of Christmas than ever before. There will be new stars including Anne Hegarty, The Governess from The Chase, as well as your old favourites – Basil Brush is back! And not forgetting Panto veteran Kevin Cruise and resident Dame Steven Blakeley who’ll be getting his frock on for the 10th year!
