What’s on this Weekend for Families in Berkshire: 3 & 4 November 2018

Welcome to November (how’d that happen?!), and with it being fireworks weekend we’ve got a whopper of a weekly update to share with you. If you’re looking for things to do this weekend (3 & 4 November) with the kiddies in Berkshire and just beyond, there’s loads happening and we’ve got all the best, not-to-be-missed bits right here for you. Royal Windsor Racecourse Spookfest & Sparkle Fireworks Display 2018

On Saturday 3 November, the skies above Windsor will light up with fireworks courtesy of British Fireworks Championship double award-winners Fantastic Fireworks. There’s also a huge fun fair and you have the option of arriving by boat from the town centre to beat the queues. Ticket-holders can enjoy a fangtastic fireworks display set to all your favourite spooky movies, including The Addams Family, Scooby Dooby Doo, Ghostbusters, Saw and Psycho.

Once you’ve been wowed by the fireworks display, you can head over to the outdoor cinema to watch the original Ghostbusters (from 1984). Royal Windsor Racecourse’s Drive in Cinema is back by popular demand. Settle in and enjoy a night at the movies from the comfort of your own car – please note tickets for the drive in cinema will need to be bought separately and there’s limited availability, so book early to avoid disappointment.

The event starts at 4.00pm with the fireworks display at 6.30pm, the Ghostbusters screening is at 7.30pm and gates close at 9.30pm. Click here to book your tickets for the Royal Windsor Racecourse fireworks display in Berkshire.

Thatcham Roller Disco is returning on Saturday 3 November 2018 at the Kennet Leisure Centre. Resolution Active will again be on hand providing skates, music and help for those new to skating. The skating runs from 5.00 – 7.45pm and is split in to two sessions; 5.00 – 6.15 & 6.30 – 7.45. Admission is £5 per skater, including skate hire. Tickets can be ordered online in advance, or if you buy them on the door please note this is cash only.

Windsor’s Winter Market

Windsors Winter Market 4 November 2018 Berkshire

On Sunday 4 November from 11.00am – 3.00pm will be Windsor’s Winter Market at New Windsor Community Association on Hanover Way. This is a great chance for the community to come together this weekend and enjoy the start of the festive season. All the money raised from the market will go back into the community for what locals agree the money should be spent on. There will be a massive dome for everyone to climb in for those magical photos and a competition for who can hold on for the longest on the rodeo reindeer!

Legoland Fireworks Spectacular 2018

The incredible fireworks display at Legoland Windsor Resort in Berkshire will take place for a final time this year on Friday 2 November 2018.

This famous show is known for having some of the best fireworks in the South with an added special twist – this spectacular is not just any fireworks show, LEGOLAND fireworks turn into exploding LEGO bricks with some magic from special Brick glasses! Set to music that is sure to get everyone singing and dancing along, watch the sky light up with a dazzling display of colour and make family memories that last a lifetime.

This Saturday 3 November join Nick Cope for his ever popular interactive music sessions with songs about everything from counting to how plants grow. Nick’s family music sessions have proved very popular so make sure you book early to avoid disappointment. The session will run from 10.30 – 11.30am at Corn Exchange Newbury. Morgan & West: Unbelievable Science at Norden Farm, Maidenhead

Magicians, time travellers and all-round spiffing chaps Morgan & West have a secret past – they are genuine, bona fide, legitimately qualified scientists, and now they’re bringing their love of enlightenment to the stage. Unbelievable Science is a live, interactive science show for the whole family, where real experiments take place right before your eyes. Expect explosive thrills, chemical spills and a risk assessment that gives their stage manage chills.

Wokingham Fireworks Spectacular at Cantley Park

You can enjoy this event by joining the torchlight parade from the town centre at 6.00pm – or go straight to Cantley Park. Torches for the procession can be purchased from the event organisers with all profits going to local charities. The procession will be led by St Sebastian’s band – if you have never attended the procession we strongly recommend it, the sight of several thousand people with flaming torches is truly memorable! At the same time the funfair opens on Cantley Field for those who choose not to join the procession. This year the funfair promises to be even bigger than ever with many rides for young children, as well as scary rides for the older ones!

With more than 20 minutes of fireworks, a 60-foot real bonfire, food from around the world and a massive funfair, Slough’s bonfire night is the best for miles around. There’s free parking for all and designated disabled parking, access and special viewing area all on tarmac. Gates open at 5.30pm with fireworks approximately 7.45pm and the bonfire will be lit around 8.15pm.

On Saturday 3 November 2018, Boyne Hill Cricket Club grounds will be open once more and transformed with a huge fireworks display for all the family. Carters Steam Fair will be back again with incredible rides, and all the sweets and treats you’ve come to expect. Make sure you prebook your ride tokens online in order to save money.

On Saturday 3 November 2018, Wellington College in Crowthorne will be opening it’s grounds for a charity fireworks spectacular – expect to be amazed by a dazzling display of music, light and fire this weekend. All proceeds will go to local and national charities. There will be street and fire entertainers, novelty light up toys, face painting and food and drink stalls. This display usually sells out fast so book early to avoid disappointment! Tickets booked in advance are; adults £10.00, children (4-17 years) £5.00, children 3 years and under are free.

Reading Lions Fireworks Spectacular

The Lions Club of Reading have their annual fireworks display at the ground of Reading City FC on Scours Lane on Saturday 3 November. Gates open at 5.00pm and the display will start around 7.00pm. You can also expect fairground rides, face painting, hot food and drinks and a licensed bar. Tickets purchased in advance are £15 family ticket (2 adults and up to 3 children), adults £7.00 and children £4.00. Some tickets will be available on the gate but they will be limited, so best to book ahead and save some money too.

Mortimer Bonfire Night & Fireworks Display 2018

Mortimer Bonfire Night and Fireworks Display is an annual charity bonfire, all proceeds raised go to Mortimer St John’s Infant school. This year is will take place on Saturday 3 November 2018, in the field behind the Horse and Groom, The Street, Mortimer, RG7 3RD. Gates open 5pm. School Choir performing at 5.30pm, Bonfire lit 6pm and fireworks at 6.45pm. On the night there will be; a licensed bar, hot & cold drinks, hog roast, BBQ, hot dogs, pizza and much, much more! There will also be light up novelties & a tuck shop for children. Tickets are: adults £5, Children £3 in advance, tickets available from the School Office, Dad’s shop, The Baobab, Budgens, McColls, Parkers, Nisa and Wellers in Burghfield. Tickets on the gate are £6 adults & £4 children.

This year’s fantastic fireworks display at Bracknell RFC will take place on Sunday 4 November 2018 at the Rugby Club. Bring the family along for what is set to be a night to remember. As well as an incredible fireworks display there will be a hog roast, BBQ, DJ and more. Gates open at 5.00pm and fireworks are set to start at 6.00pm.
