Carters Steam Fair is a magical and exciting experience for both adults and children, and it’s coming to Reading’s Prospect Park on Saturday 13 and Sunday 14 October 2018. The fair is free to get in to, and the rides operate on a token basis. You can buy tokens on the day at the fair, or why not save money by buying them in advance online here now. You’ll also find plenty to fill tummies with food and drink vans, candy floss and sweet treats. For families with slightly older children there’s a not-to-be-missed free fireworks display at 9.00pm on Saturday 13 October. Open: Saturday 13 October midday – 10.00pm; Sunday 14 October midday – 8.00pm. Free admission; Dogs welcome.

Bring one yoga mat per pair and a blanket each. Suitable for children age 4 – 8 years and must be accompanied by an adult. This Sunday 14 October bring the kids to the community orchard at The Nature Discovery Centre in Thatcham to celebrate everything that’s wonderful about apples, on this fantastic family day out. Make your own apple juice, taste some old and new varieties, buy local cider, get involved in face painting, crunch a toffee apple. There will also be a guided walk to look at the fruits of autumn. Entry to the event is free and it will run from 11.00am – 3.00pm.

Bring your little ones to The Lookout Discovery Centre in Bracknell from 5 September – 28 October 2018 for The Splash, Bubbles & Balloons Show. This bubbling and explosive show is not to be missed. Can you really make water disappear? Can you make a fire balloon? Come and find out in this fun show. Shows run at the weekends and during Bracknell school holiday times, at 11.00am, midday, 2.00pm, & 3.15pm. Finishes Sunday 28 October.

Every Saturday throughout October and during the Half Term break, bring the kiddies to Windsor Castle for Drawing Inspiration. Take part in a special event celebrating art and drawing. After being inspired by the beautiful surroundings of the Castle, come along to the drop-in art workshop and create your own masterpiece to take home.

This event is free with a standard admission to the Castle. Castle entry is free to families with a RBWM Advantage Card (residents of Windsor & Maidenhead). To find out more on admission costs to the Castle, click here.

This Saturday 13 October join Nick Cope for his ever popular interactive music sessions with songs about everything from counting to how plants grow. Nick’s family music sessions have proved very popular so make sure you book early to avoid disappointment. The session will run from 10.30 – 11.30am at Corn Exchange Newbury.
