Norden Farm’s Community Kite Festival 2018, Punt Hill Maidenhead

Sunday 2 September 2018, 1.00 – 4.00pm

Norden Farm’s Community Kite Festival will take place on Sunday 2 September 2018 between 1.00 – 4.00pm. This is a free event for the whole family to come and enjoy in Maidenhead at Boyn Grove Park (Punt Hill) to see your kite take to the sky! There will be food and drink stands on the day for what promises to be a great fun family event. You can bring your own kite, or come to a great fun workshop at Norden Farm to make one.

Details for the last remaining workshop before the big day: Saturday 1 September 2018 | Norden Farm | 11.30am – 1.00pm & 2.00 – 3.30pm | £3.00 per person. You can make a kite in around 20-30 minutes with a bit of adult support. All are welcome to design and create their own original kite to bring to the festival.

Wokingham Fire Station Open Day

Saturday 1 September 2018, 11.00am – 4.00pm

This Saturday is the Wokingham Fire station Open Day. There will be spectacular demonstrations throughout the day. Children will have the opportunity to sit in the fire engines and see a range of vintage and modern fire engines. Also in the station will be sweet stalls and a raffle.

Family Saturdays: The Wedding Bells of Windsor at Windsor Castle

Saturday 1 September 2018, midday

Running every Saturday throughout September, is this fun event for families at Windsor Castle. Family Saturdays this month will offer a second opportunity to learn about Windsor Castle’s importance as the setting for royal weddings.

Saturday 1 September at midday will be ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’ storytelling in St George’s Hall with Shakespeare’s Globe. Children attending the storytelling will receive a commemorative booklet about royal weddings at Windsor that includes a mini picture trail to follow in St George’s Chapel.

This event is free with a standard admission to the Castle. Castle entry is free to families with a RBWM Advantage Card. To find out more on admission costs to the Castle, click here.

The Superhero Show at The Lookout Discovery Centre, Bracknell – Last Chance!

Saturday 1 & Sunday 2 September 2018

Are you a superhero? Bring your little ones to The Lookout Discovery Centre in Bracknell from 21 July – 2 September 2018 for The Superhero Show. This is a great science show where you’ll look at super strength, invisibility and you’ll have lots of fun with science experiments. Shows run at the weekends and during Bracknell school holiday times, at 11.00am, midday, 2.00pm, & 3.15pm. Finishes Sunday 2 September.

Norden Farm Centre for the Arts, Maidenhead

Saturday 1 & Sunday 2 September 2018

The Beach – The ever popular Maidenhead Beach is back, all summer long – this year inspired by the laid back tropical paradise that is Goa. It’s free to play on every day with beachside tables available for snacks and lunch from the Café Bar (including children’s picnic bags). Enjoy the beach all weekend.

Storytelling – this Saturday 1 September is story time at Norden Farm. Bring the kiddies down to join the storytellers in the magical story den. This Saturday children can hear the fantastic Don’t Pick your Nose Pinocchio, told at 1.30 & 3.30pm. Suitable for children age 3 – 7 years. £2.00 per child.

Big Band Concertini with the Blakes Heaven Big Band – we’re a huge fan of Concertini’s music sessions for families, and this Sunday it’s Big Band time! An original and enjoyable live music experience for parents to enjoy with their children in a relaxed and friendly environment. Sunday 2 September, 11.30am. £10 per person, £32 per family.
