Birds of Prey at Cobbs Play Barn, Hungerford

Monday 27 August 2018, 11.00am – 3.00pm

Come to Cobbs Play Barn this Bank Holiday Monday for a free birds of prey display. Mike Hill from Hilltop Birds of Prey will be visiting Cobbs, and alongside him will be 4-5 different birds of prey and owls – find them near the Play Barn. There will be ample chance for handling and photo opportunities, as well as the chance to learn more about these fabulous birds first hand.

Wokingham Festival 2018

Friday 24 – Sunday 26 August 2018

This year the Wokingham Festival will run from 24 – 26 August 2018 in Cantley Park, Berkshire. There will be loads going on across the weekend including fantastic live music, a beer festival, great food and drink stands, crafts stalls and lots of family activities too.

Wokingham Festival provides fun for all the family, with lots of entertainment to keep the little ones happy over the Bank Holiday Weekend! With a very special shaded Children’s Corner, kids can join the Circus Scene to learn a trick or two to impress their friends and marvel at Magic Moments Entertainment doing amazing balloon modelling. There’s also face painting and henna to get children Festival ready, and yummy ice cream next door to cool even the hottest of Festival days.

Robin Hood – A Musical Celebration at South Hill Park, Bracknell

Thursday 23 – Monday 27 August 2018

Following the summer sell-out successes of Alice in Wonderland, Peter Pan and The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe, South Hill Park presents Robin Hood, David Wood’s enchanting tale for all the family. Take a journey around the musical Maypole and into the English countryside with a troupe of village players as they delight in the tales of Robin Hood. Share in the stories of Friar Tuck, Little John, Maid Marian and more in this lyrical production. This production will be an enjoyable and visual treat for all the family.

The show will run in the Wilde Theatre from 23 – 27 August 2018. It’s suitable for children from ages 5 years +. To find out more and get your tickets, click here.

 

The Littlewick Show, Knowl Hill

Monday 27 August 2018

This Bank Holiday Monday is the Littlewick Show at Bottle Meadow in Knowl Hill. The show has been running since 1935 and brings together horticultural, farming, rural and other craft skills, as well as family amusements and sideshows. The show is always a great fun day out for all the family, and has something for all ages, including; a horse show, children’s funfair, Punch & Judy Show, ferret racing, dog show, children’s sports and much more. There will be hot and cold food available throughout the day, as well as a licensed bar. Admission is £7.00 for adults, £3.00 for children under 16, or £18.00 for a family ticket.

The Big Inflatable Takeover at Wellington Country Park

Saturday 25 – Monday 27 August 2018

This August Bank Holiday The Big Inflatable Takeover returns to Wellington Country Park, allowing children to bounce away the long weekend… Runs from Saturday 25 – Monday 27 August 2018, and includes; the castle, the ball pond, the big castle, the mini obstacle course, the big obstacle course, and the bungee run.

Family Fun at Norden Farm this Weekend

Saturday 25 – Monday 27 August 2018

The Beach – The ever popular Maidenhead Beach is back, all summer long – this year inspired by the laid back tropical paradise that is Goa. It’s free to play on every day with beachside tables available for snacks and lunch from the Café Bar (including children’s picnic bags). Enjoy the beach all bank holiday weekend.

The hit children’s film, Coco, is showing this weekend at Norden Farm. You can catch the film at 11.30am on Saturday and 2.00pm on Sunday. Prices from £5.00. Click here to book your tickets.

Storytelling – this Saturday 25 August is story time at Norden Farm. Bring the kiddies down to join the storytellers in the magical story den. This Saturday children can hear the fantastic tale of The Day the Crayons Quit, told at 1.30 & 3.30pm. Suitable for children age 3 – 7 years.

Big Dog Little Dog yoga session for parents and children. Connect and bond through movement and breath. Get ready to fly! Class includes elements of acroyoga. Bring one yoga mat (per pair) and a blanket each. Suitable for children age 4 – 8 years and must be accompanied by an adult. Inflatable Play Centre, Bracknell Leisure Centre

Sunday 26 & Monday 27 August 2018

This Sunday and Monday over the Bank Holiday weekend bring the kiddies to Bracknell Leisure Centre for Inflatable Play Centre days! Get the children bouncing off the walls and burning off some energy! Children will enjoy bouncing for 1.5 hours on around 8 different inflatables, including; giant slides, bouncy castles, disco castles, obstacle courses, multiplay houses and more.

Sessions run on both days from 10.00 – 11.30am, 11.30am – 1.00pm, 1.00 – 2.30pm and an extra session on the Monday from 2.30m- 4.00pm. Tickets are £6.50 per child. To find out more and book your spaces, click here.

 

The Swallowfield Show 2018

Sunday 26 & Monday 27 August 2018

This weekend is The Swallowfield Show 2018. This great annual family-friendly show has a jam packed agenda for the 2 days. There will be displays in the main arena, including; sheep displays, falconry, pipe band, stunt bikes, charity guide dog display. There will also be horticultural displays, floral art, a craft marquee, an artisan food hall, a dog show, classic wheels car display, and a horse show. On top of all of this head to the Village Green Bandstand for great live music throughout the weekend where there will be seating so you can kick back and enjoy the entertainment.

For the children there will be plenty to keep them busy and happy. Family entertainment over the weekend includes; laser tag, laser clay shooting, Kidsrome petting farm, Quirks Animal Roadshow, The Circus Scene, children’s fun fair, donkey rides, Wild West Show and a children’s storyteller.

Peacock Farm Charity Fun Day, Bracknell

Sunday 26 August 2018, midday – 10.00pm

Bring the family to Peacock Farm in Bracknell this Sunday for their 3rd annual charity fun day. They will be raising money for the local Air Ambulance throughout the day. There will be a range of fun filled activities for all the family to enjoy, including live music, raffles, face painting, glitter tattoos, a bouncy castle, BBQ, and guaranteed lots of fun.

The Superhero Show at The Lookout Discovery Centre, Bracknell

Are you a superhero? Bring your little ones to The Lookout Discovery Centre in Bracknell from 21 July – 2 September 2018 for The Superhero Show. This is a great science show where you’ll look at super strength, invisibility and you’ll have lots of fun with science experiments. Shows run at the weekends and during Bracknell school holiday times, at 11.00am, midday, 2.00pm, & 3.15pm.

Pirates, Pants and Wellyphants at The River & Rowing Museum, Henley

Saturday 25 – Monday 27 August 2018

Nick Sharratt, the man behind the instantly recognisable illustrations for Jacqueline Wilson’s Tracy Beaker books, is the subject of this colourful, humorous and hands-on exhibition. The fun packed exhibition explores Nick’s passion for drawing, from childhood to his current status as an internationally renowned illustrator and author. The exhibition features many of the well-known characters that Nick has illustrated, including Tracy Beaker, Daisy, Hetty Feather and Pirate Pete, as well as a host of animals, and vast quantities of food and clothing!

Visitors can immerse themselves in Nick’s world, find out about his childhood and what inspired him to become an illustrator, and meet a host of the characters that he has created throughout his career. Families can enjoy visiting a recreation of Nick’s studio and have a go at drawing a selection of his characters using a light box. A touch screen interactive enables you to create your own digital ‘Sharracter’, and a wipe clean wall is available for everyone to have a go at drawing their own Nick Sharratt inspired picture! Have a go at dressing up in a selection of whacky costumes, including a mermaid’s tail, some very fancy pants and a pineapple!
