My second favourite night of the year (what could beat Christmas Eve) is just around the corner, and the excitement is building already. Fireworks Night is all about wrapping up in chunky knits, funfair rides, wellies, naughty food, glow sticks and of course that amazing smell in the air. We’re spoilt for choice when it comes to fireworks in Berkshire with some amazing displays, from the fantastic Royal Windsor Racecourse extravaganza to loads of amazing local community events. Here are the Little Ankle Biters top picks so you can start planning ahead for fireworks in Berkshire 2018.

Last year’s spectacular at Royal Windsor Racecourse sold out early, so hurry and book your tickets for this year’s fireworks highlight and massive fun fair…

Yes, the nights are drawing in, but there’s a real highlight coming up. On Saturday 3 November, the skies above Windsor will light up with fireworks courtesy of British Fireworks Championship double award-winners Fantastic Fireworks. There’s also a huge fun fair and you have the option of arriving by boat from the town centre to beat the queues. Ticket-holders can enjoy a fangtastic fireworks display set to all your favourite spooky movies, including The Addams Family, Scooby Dooby Doo, Ghostbusters, Saw and Psycho. Once you’ve been wowed by the fireworks display, you can head over to the outdoor cinema to watch the original Ghostbusters (from 1984). Windsor Racecourse’s Drive in Cinema is back by popular demand. Settle in and enjoy a night at the movies from the comfort of your own car – please note tickets for the drive in cinema will need to be bought separately and there’s limited availability, so book early to avoid disappointment. The fireworks and music spectacular contains strobe lighting and effects. Parking is free of charge.

The event starts at 4.00pm with the fireworks display at 6.30pm, the Ghostbusters screening is at 7.30pm and gates close at 9.30pm. Click here to book your tickets.

Twyford & District Round Table Firework Display 2018

This year’s Twyford & District Round Table charity bonfire and fireworks night will take place on Saturday 27 October 2018 at St George Field in Twyford. Families can expect a dynamic firework show, music, lights and action to bring the night to life. This year’s bonfire is going to be themed to celebrate the RAF 100 centenary! Refreshments and entertainment on the night will include; Pelham’s funfair, BBQ, a drinks tent selling mulled wine, real ales, wine, lager, cider, soft drinks, hot coffee and hot chocolate. Tickets in advance are adults £6.00 and children £3.00.

Reading Blue Coat School Pyromusical Fireworks 2018

The 2018 Reading Blue Coat School fireworks extravaganza will be on 1 November 2018. Gates open at 6.00pm with fireworks at 7:30pm. Ticket prices are; advanced tickets £10.00, gate tickets £12.50, gate family tickets (2 adults, 2 children or 1 adult, 3 children) £45.00, under 5’s free!

Legoland Windsor Resort Fireworks Spectacular

The last incredible firework display at Legoland Windsor Resort will take place on Friday 2 November 2018. This famous show is known for having some of the best fireworks in the South with an added special twist – this spectacular is not just any firework show, LEGOLAND fireworks turn into exploding LEGO bricks with some magic from special Brick glasses! Set to music that is sure to get everyone singing and dancing along, watch the sky light up with a dazzling display of colour and make family memories that last a lifetime.

Burnham Football Club

Burnham Football Club is holding it’s annual grand firework display on Friday 2 November 2018. This is always a great night out for families. This year you can expect; a fun fair, market stalls, a live band, disco and entertainment. Gates open at 5.30pm and the display starts at 7.30pm. This year many local shops will be selling tickets to buy in advance at reduced prices. Advanced tickets are: Family ticket (2 adults and 2 children) £13.00, adult £6.00, under 15 years £3.00. Tickets on the door are: Family ticket £20.00, adult £10.00, under 15 years £5.00.

Cox Green Fireworks 2018

The Cox Green Fireworks are back with a bang this year and will take place at Cox Green School on Friday 2 November. Gates open at 5.30pm, and the fireworks will be set off around 7.00pm. Tickets are £5.00 and under 2s are free. As well as a spectacular firework show there will also be a BBQ, hot drinks and children’s fairground rides.

Carters Steam Fair, Boyn Hill Cricket Club Fireworks Display, Maidenhead

On Saturday 3 November 2018, Boyne Hill Cricket Club grounds will be open once more and transformed with a huge firework display. Carters Steam Fair will be back again with incredible rides, and all the sweets and treats you’ve come to expect. Entry is free before 5.00pm and £5.00 per person after that (under 5s are free all the time). Fireworks are expected to start at 7.30pm.

Wokingham Fireworks Spectacular 2018, Cantley Park

On Saturday 3 November 2018 from 6.00 – 9.30pm is the Wokingham Firework Spectacular at Cantley Park, now in it’s 30th year! The fun starts at 6:00pm when a torchlight procession leaves from the town centre. The procession will be led by St Sebastian’s band and various local dignitaries.  If you have never attended the procession we strongly recommend it. The sight of several thousand people with 500 flaming torches walking down Broad Street is truly memorable! At the same time the funfair opens on Cantley Field for those who choose not to join the procession. This year the funfair promises to be even bigger than ever, with many rides for young children. The fireworks start at 7:30pm.

Upton Court Park Fireworks, Slough

The 2018 Upton Court Park event is on Saturday 3 November 2018. With more than 20 minutes of fireworks, a 60-foot real bonfire, food from around the world and a massive funfair, Slough’s bonfire night is the best for miles around. There’s free parking for all and designated disabled parking, access and special viewing area all on tarmac. Gates open at 5.30pm with fireworks approximately 7.45pm and the bonfire will be lit around 8.15pm. Tickets are adults £6.00, children 15 years and under £4.00, and under 4s are free.

Sparks in the Park, Swallowfield Park, Reading – *Now Sold Out**

Always a sell-out, Sparks in the Park will return this fireworks weekend on Saturday 3 November 2018, set in the stunning grounds of Swallowfield Park. As well as great fireworks there will also be a huge bonfire, live music and lots of novelty flashing children’s toys for sale. Foodwise there will be a hog roast, pizza, snacks and hot and cold drinks available. Tickets are on sale now. Gates open at 6.00pm. Fireworks approximately 7.30pm.

Wellington College Charity Fireworks 2018, Crowthorne

On Saturday 3 November, Wellington College will be opening it’s grounds for a charity fireworks spectacular – expect to be amazed by a dazzling display of music, light and fire. All proceeds will go to local and national charities. There will be street and fire entertainers, novelty light up toys, face painting and food and drink stalls. Tickets will go on sale early October.

Ascot Racecourse Fireworks Spectacular

This year’s firework display at Ascot racecourse takes place on Saturday 3 November 2018. It promises to be one of the regions largest displays! The Plaza Lawns will come alive during the afternoon with free fairground rides until 4.00pm, and then £1.00 a ride thereafter. All proceeds go to local charities. Entry is free for children under 18.

Mortimer Bonfire Night and Fireworks Display

This year the display will take place on Saturday 3 November in the field behind The Horse & Groom in Mortimer. As well as a fantastic family friendly fireworks display there will be a licensed bar, hot and cold drinks, hog roast, BBQ, pizza, novelty toys for the children and more. Gates open at 5.00pm, bonfire lit at 6.00pm and fireworks at 6.45pm. Tickets in advance are £5.00 for adults and £3.00 for children.

The Lions Reading Fireworks Spectacular

The Lions Club of Reading have their annual firework display at the ground of Reading City FC on Scours Lane on Saturday 3 November. Gates open at 5.00pm and the display will start around 7.00pm. You can also expect fairground rides, face painting, hot food and drinks and a licensed bar. Tickets purchased in advance are £15 family ticket (2 adults and up to 3 children), adults £7.00 and children £4.00. Some tickets will be available on the gate but they will be limited so best to book ahead and save some money too.

Fopps Bonfire and Fireworks Display 2018, Pangbourne

This year’s Fopps annual firework fiesta will take place on Saturday 3 November, and promises to be a great night of family entertainment. There will be a 20 minute display, huge bonfire, BBQ, hot drinks, glow toys and live music. Gates open at 5.30pm and fireworks start approximately 7.00pm. The display takes place at Pangbourne Primary School. Advance ticket prices are adults £8.00 and under 12s only £1.00.

Cookham Scouts Bonfire and Fireworks 2018

The annual Cookham Scouts Bonfire & Firework display will take place on Saturday 3 November 2018, at Grove Island, Odney Lane. As well as a great display there will also be hot dogs, refreshments and mulled wine for sale on the night. Gates open at 5.30pm, bonfire lighting at 6.00pm, and the fireworks will be around 7.00pm. Tickets are £5.00 in advance or £7.00 on the night.

Bracknell RFC Fireworks 2018

This year’s firework display at Bracknell RFC will take place on Sunday 4 November 2018 at the Rugby Club. Bring the family along for what is set to be a night to remember. As well as an incredible firework display there will be a hog roast, BBQ, DJ and more. Gates open at 5.00pm and fireworks are set to start at 6.00pm. A family ticket is £15.00 and single tickets are £5.00.

Thameside Fireworks Fiesta 2018

Bring the family along to this year’s Thameside Fireworks Fiesta, organised by Purley Primary School. The spectacular display over the river at Mapledurham Lock is supplied by Illusion Fireworks and promises to be a fantastic, not-to-be-missed event with tasty hot food, a licensed bar and glow novelties! Gates will open at 5.30pm, with the fireworks kicking off at 7.00pm. Save money and beat the queues by buying tickets in advance – adults £6.00, children £2.50, or a family ticket (for up to 2 adults and 4 children) is £15.00.

Fireworks Displays: Monday 5 November 2018


The Palmer Arms Fireworks Display 2018, Dorney

The annual firework display at The Palmer Arms in Dorney will take place this year on Monday 5 November 2018. Doors open 5.00pm and fireworks are due to start at 7.00pm. This is always a very popular family event so make sure to get your tickets in advance. Ticket prices are adults £10.00, children £5.00, family ticket £25.00, under 3s are free. All ticket prices include food on the night.

Chieveley Fireworks 2018

This will be the 50th year for the Chieveley fireworks, which are believed to be the longest running village fireworks display in the UK. This year they run on Monday 5 November 2018 at the Recreation Centre on the High Street. As always there will be a great selection of locally sourced food and drink including beer, mulled wine, a BBQ and doughnuts. Gates open at 6.15pm, torchlight procession at 7.00pm, fireworks at 7.45pm. No tickets will be sold on the gate so you need to buy them in advance either online or from Chieveley Village Stores. Tickets are £5.50, under 5s are free.

Lions Firework Spectacular 2018: Newbury Racecourse

This year’s firework spectacular will take place on Saturday 10 November 2018. Enjoy a fun evening with a great display including; bar, funfair, food, entertainment, and free parking. Gates open at 5.30pm, the display will start at 7.30pm. Advance tickets are £6.00 for adults, £4.00 for children. Advance tickets will be available from October. Prices on the gate £7.00 for adults, £5.00 for children.
