What the Ladybird Heard, Corn Exchange Newbury

Julia Donaldson’s amazing story, What the Ladybird Heard, is coming to the Corn Exchange Newbury from 15 – 17 June 2018 and you can get tickets now for this amazing children’s show.

Two crafty robbers, one tiny ladybird, and a whole farmyard of fun! Hefty Hugh and Lanky Len have a cunning plan to steal the farmer’s fine prize cow. Little do they know, the Ladybird has a plan of her own! Join the woolly sheep, the hairy hog, the fat red hen and the dainty dog in this hit musical adaptation of Julia Donaldson and Lydia Monks’ colourful farmyard adventure. Direct from the West End with live music, puppetry, plenty of audience participation and lots of laughs!

This show is suitable for children age 3 years +. Running time is 55 minutes with no interval. The show runs on Friday 15 June at 2.00pm, Saturday 16 June at 11.00am & 2.00pm, and Sunday 17 June at 11.00am & 2.00pm.

Father’s Day in Berkshire 2018

Reading Water Fest & Abbey Ruins Revealed

16 June 2018, 11.00am – 5.00pm

This year’s Reading Water Fest will coincide with the official reopening of Reading Abbey and the start of the Reading Abbey revealed festival. The event takes places in the Forbury Gardens, Abbey Ruins and along the Kennet, between Chestnut Walk and the Riverside Museum.

The event will include love entertainment, children’s activities and refreshments, water activities, narrow boats, craft and charity stalls.

The Slime Show at The Lookout Discovery Centre, Bracknell

Saturday 9 & Sunday 10 June 2018

Why are slugs and snails so slimy? Can you really cut, bounce or stretch slime? Come and find out in this sticky, gooey and slime filled show!

Shows run throughout the day on weekends and during Bracknell school holidays. Suitable for children aged 3+ years, who can sit still for half an hour. Shows cost £1.95 on top of your admission cost to the Lookout Discovery Centre. You don’t need to pre-book tickets for the shows, just book them on the day at reception. Plus you’ll get to enjoy all the exciting activities and hands-on science exhibitions at the centre.

Sunday Stories at Norden Farm Centre for the Arts, Maidenhead

Sunday 17 June 2018, 11.30am – 12.15pm

Bring the kiddies to Norden Farm this weekend for interactive storytelling in the magical story den, this weekend Joe will be telling the story of The Little Hamster from the Water. Parents can join in or unwind in the café with a cuppa and the papers, while your little ones get involved in telling stories from all over the world. Suitable for children age 4 – 7 years. The session starts at 11.30am and last 45 minutes. £3.00 per child.

Berkshire Craft & Country Fair, Beale Park Showground, Pangbourne

Saturday 16 & Sunday 17 June 2018, 10.00am – 5.00pm

Oakleigh Fairs are returning to Beale Park this weekend with their Craft & Country Fair 2018. There will be lots of fun for all the family at this great venue, all day entertainment will include; Equestrienne Stunt Horse Display Team, birds of prey and owl displays, terrier racing, children’s entertainer Mario Magic, The dog and duck show, the goat show including bottle feeding lambs and kids, children’s petting pens, historical re-enactment and much more. There will also be arts, crafts and food & drink stalls as well a trade stands for you to check out. On Sunday don’t miss the Companion Dog Show.

Game of Clues Murder Mystery at Cliveden National Trust

Saturday 16 & Sunday 17 June 2018, 10.30am – 3.30pm

A new year, a new victim, a new killer. Following last year’s crime caper, there’s a brand new outdoor mystery for you and your family to solve. The year is 1853 and, whilst the Sutherland’s are away visiting their London abode, Cliveden’s head butler has turned up dead on the estate. Mr Butter, a rather unsavoury character, was discovered fallen off his chair and smelling of whiskey, but how did he get there?

Follow the outdoors trail to solve the murder mystery. Costs £5.00 per trail and is suitable for children aged 8 years +. Dogs on leads are welcome. The trail runs from 10.30am – 3.30pm.

The Stonor Food Festival, Henley on Thames, Oxfordshire

Saturday 16 & Sunday 17 June 2018, 10.00am – 4.00pm

This weekend is the first Stonor Food Festival at Stonor Park in Oxfordshire. Special guests will include Mary Berry and GBBO Finalist Steven Carter-Bailey. There will be 45 stalls with local and specialist produce, and a talks and tasting hub where you will be able to listen to and meet top local and celebrated chefs. Tickets include entrance to Stonor House and Gardens as well as the fantastic Wonder Woods Adventure Playground for children.

Marlow Town Regatta and Festival, Higginson Park, Bucks

Sunday 17 June 2018, 9.00am – 5.00pm

This weekend is the Marlow Town Regatta and Festival, and Sunday is free entry and family fun for everyone! The Marlow Dragon Boat Festival will run on the Thames from 9.00am – 4.00pm, this is one of the UK’s largest Dragon Boat festivals and always loads of fun to watch. There will be loads of free entertainment from midday until 5.00pm, including; K9 Quacker Show watch how the sheepdogs steer the ducks through obstacles, watch ferret racing where children can take part, performance by Kobika Starlite Dance Troupe, a circus, mobile farm, craft workshops, bouncy castle, a fun dog show, plenty of food and drink stalls and lots more.

Feast 2018, Waddesdon Manor, Bucks

Saturday 16 & Sunday 17 June 2018

This weekend, see the North Front transformed with flowers, colourful flags and decorated tables for this years Feast Festival. Enjoy a picnic, or try some of the delicious food on offer from one of over 70 handpicked artisan food and drink stalls. Be delighted, surprised, and entertained by a range of extraordinary top international performances.
