Pick Your Own Farms in Berkshire

What better way to get your little ones, and bigger ones, eating the rainbow than taking them out to pick their own fruit and veg. Berkshire and the surrounding area has loads of fantastic farms which offer pick your own for families, it’s a great way to spend a few hours out in the fresh air. So pull on your wellies and get out to one of the farms below, kiddies are much more likely to eat what’s on their plate if they’ve helped pick it. Please always check opening times and what fruit is currently in season before you travel.


Pick Your Own at Copas Farm, Cookham & Iver

Copas Farm in Cookham has long been a favourite of ours offering fresh yumminess in the form of strawberries, raspberries, blackcurrants, peas, spinach, beetroot and more. It’s a big, well organised site with friendly and helpful staff. There’s also a farm shop at the exit for grabbing extras.

Cobbs Farm Shop & Kitchen, Hungerford

This is a great site to take the kiddies fruit and veg picking. As well as a large farm with a variety of fresh tasty bits to fill your basket, Cobbs has loads going on making it a fun day out for the family. You’ll find a Café with a good selection of fresh, locally sourced and homemade meals, and two play areas for little ones to burn off some energy, an indoor play barn and an outside space for dry days. Perfect!

Grays Farm, Wokingham

Head down to Grays Farm in Wokingham with the kids to get your fresh fruit and veggies. There’s also a Farm Shop to grab other bits needed.

Hildred’s PYO Farm, Reading

For all your PYO needs in the Reading area come down to Hildred’s Farm in Goring on Thames.

Millets Farm Centre, Frilford Nr Abingdon, Oxfordshire

Not far from Berkshire, and definitely worth a mention here, is Millets Farm Centre in Frilford near Abingdon. This is a day out and a half for families! There’s a great PYO farm area, Farm Shop, restaurant, Sprouts Play Barn (Little Ankle Biters Award Winner 2018 for Oxfordshire), Animal Walkway, outdoor play area, Maize Maze, Falconry Centre and more. Phew!
