Maidenhead Christmas Lights & Fireworks

Saturday 25 November 2017

The Christmas lights switch on event starts at the Town Hall from 4.30pm with live music building up to the lights switching on at 6.00pm, followed by a spectacular fireworks display from the roof of the Town Hall. There will be a Christmas market and free parking in town this weekend.

Sunningdale Christmas Celebration

Friday 24 November 2017

The Sunningdale Christmas Celebration will take place on Friday 24 November 2017 from 5.30pm to 7.30pm at the junction of Chobham Road and the A30. Shops & businesses will be open late and you can enjoy a wide range of seasonal activities, refreshments and entertainment. With Santa’s grotto, mulled wine, mince pies, biscuit decorating, face painting, local choirs and much, much more, come along and help us light up Sunningdale.

Miki, Norden Farm Centre for the Arts, Maidenhead

This Winter don’t miss the beautiful story of Miki. The theatre show will run from Tuesday 21 November – Saturday 30 December 2017, and you can book your tickets now.

Miki, Polar Bear and Penguin live in a very far away place. It’s an icy world where nothing ever grows. One midwinter eve, they make a wish and Miki embarks on a magical adventure in search of a star. Based on the book by Stephen Mackay, this is an inspiring story about friendship, courage and adventure. It features amazing underwater creatures, enchanting music and extraordinary puppetry.

Windsor On Ice, Alexandra Gardens

Alexandra Gardens is once again home to Windsor On Ice (think ice rinks, rides, food & drink and live music), which runs from now until 7 January 2018. Wokingham Winter Carnival 2017

The Wokingham Winter Carnival entitled “Wokingham Through The Ages”, starts at 11.00am on Sunday 26 November finishing with carols being led by the Town Mayor, Peter Lucey. The Carnival is a free community event held in the town centre with entertainment for all the family. Attractions for the day include fun fair rides, over 100 food, craft and charity stalls, non-stop free entertainment including a magic show, Punch & Judy, comedy jugglers, clowns and other special entertainers. Santa’s Grotto is again expected to be in the warmth of the Library from 11.00am – 3.00pm. Our younger visitors are very welcome to come and share their Christmas present lists with him. The event will culminate with the switch on of the lights this weekend.

The Borrowers Christmas 2017, The Watermill Theatre, Newbury

Thursday 16 November – Sunday 31 December 2017

Letter From Father Christmas Workshops, St Edmund Campion School, Maidenhead

Sunday 26 November, 1.00pm

Children will come and write their letters to Father Christmas and then decorate them, before posting them in a very special letterbox. After that there will be a craft activity, which this year will be decorating a mason jar which can be used to either hold reindeer food or a Christmas Eve hot chocolate! The children’s letters will then be taken away and carefully looked over. They will then receive a handwritten reply from Father Christmas. Each letter is unique to each child and will include snippets of information passed on by the child and parent (parents will receive a short questionnaire to make these letters as individual and special as possible).

The session lasts 45 minutes and takes place at St Edmund Campion Primary School, Maidenhead. The workshop costs £10.00 per child. For more information, or to book your child’s place now, click here.

Newbury Christmas Lights

Sunday 26 November

Come along to the Market Place and meet Father Christmas in his grotto from 11:00am. The fun continues with live entertainment on stage from 12:30pm with performances from local acts including Sion Whiley and Paper Houses. The annual Santa Parade sets off from Market Street at 4:45pm and will make its way to the Market Place, ready for the big switch on at 5:20pm. Newbury Artisan Market will also be in town on the 26 November with their festive special! Think quality festive produce, original art, designer crafts & sizzling street food, all mixed in with family activities, live music and special Christmas extras.

Windsor’s Rise from the Ashes – Family Saturdays at Windsor Castle

On Saturday 25 November, from 11.00am – 3.00pm, bring the children to Windsor Castle for November Family Saturdays. This is the last opportunity to take part in this event.

Celebrate the 20th anniversary of the restoration of Windsor Castle after the great fire by taking part in our special art and craft activities for families. The activities are free with a standard entry ticket so you can enjoy the Castle at the same time.

The Carnival of the Animals: Lantern Making Workshop – Norden Farm, Maidenhead

Get ready to join the parade! This is a workshop for children and parents to weave and decorate willow to create lanterns inspired by the animal world. Workshops take place on Sunday 26 November at Norden Farm in Maidenhead, from 11.00am – 1.00pm and 2.00pm – 4.00pm. Lanterns created at these family workshops will be illuminated at Norden Farm’s annual Lantern Parade on Saturday 9 December. Suitable for all ages and all the family. £4 per person. (Please note a space must be booked for every person attending the workshop – including supervising adults).

Woodley Christmas Lights

Saturday 25 November 2017

The Woodley lights will be switched on on Saturday 25 November with festivities starting at 4.30pm. Visitors will see the Tree of Light from Woodley and Earley Lions, carols with Woodley Churches, the Reading Operatic Society and the Woodley Concert Band. There will also be mince pies, mulled wine and roasted chestnuts.

Alexander Devine’s Santa Dash, Windsor

Sunday 26 November 2017, 9.00am.

Kick start your Christmas with this fab event and support your local children’s hospice, Alexander Devine. Grab your family, friends, colleagues, even dogs and join us for this 5km festive fun run. Walk it, jog it, run it, skip it… it’s just for fun. The start and finish line is at Bachelors Acre in Windsor and the route will take you up the Long Walk and through Windsor Town Centre. Plus there’s a free adult Santa suit / children’s reindeer ears for all who enter.

Oaktree Garden Centre, Bracknell

Christmas at Oaktree Garden Centre near Bracknell is a very special time for all. Come and visit and see our amazing Christmas display, walk through the Christmas Wonderland, full of lit trees and Christmas scenes. Post your Christmas letter to Santa in our special post box and visit the Reindeer from 26th November till Christmas. There are various packages including grotto experience, breakfast and tea with Santa.

A magical Christmas experience, 4 Kingdoms Adventure Park, Newbury

Breakfast or Tea with Father Christmas – Wyevale Garden Centre

From 18 November – 24 December, Christmas will be descending on Wyevale Garden Centres across Berkshire. Bring your little ones along and enjoy a delicious, freshly-prepared breakfast or tea! The whole family meets Santa, children decorate a festive biscuit and then choose their very own present to take home. Available in Thatcham, Hungerford, Wokingham, Winnersh, Binfield, Reading, Windsor and Hare Hatch. For more information click here.

Squires Garden Centre, Windsor

Santa is coming to town! Come and greet him as he makes his grand arrival at 10am on Saturday 25 November at Squire’s Windsor. Santa will be arriving in style in Lightning McQueen from Cars (yes, really!), and will greet his excited audience before opening his free festive grotto where he will be handing out presents.
