This October there are lots of ghastly Halloween activities taking places across Berkshire and the surrounding areas for kiddies of all ages. So grab your broomsticks and cat ears, we’ve pulled together a list of our top picks for you to try out, if you dare…

The Night Forest, Braywick Nature Reserve, Maidenhead

‘The Night Forest’ returns to Braywick Nature Centre 25-28 October 2017, 5:30 – 7.00pm. All the fun of Halloween for the whole family, with pumpkin carving, a procession at twilight and after-dark stories by the campfire. For more information and to book tickets, click here.

Halloween Trail at Cliveden

This half term there are some spooky Halloween happenings down in the woods at Cliveden! Bring your little ones to Cliveden National Trust between 21 and 29 October, anytime from 11.00am – 2.30pm for a fun Halloween trail around the grounds of stunning Cliveden. £3.00 per child. Fancy dress is completely optional, but much more fun with it (who can resist a little witch in wellies!) For more information click here.

Halloween Workshops, Cox Green Community Centre, Maidenhead

Cox Green Community Centre are holding a children’s Halloween workshop on Saturday 28 October 2017 from 2.00 – 4.00pm. Come along and make your Halloween decorations, do some creepy crafts, join in some ghoulish games and eat some scary snacks. £3.50 per child. Halloween Haunt Hunt, Newbury

For your chance to win fantastic prizes, follow the trail around Newbury town centre using the clues and find the letters to reveal the secret code! The hunt takes place 23 – 28 October 2017.

From the 23 October entry forms can be collected from the Halloween workshops in Parkway Shopping and the Kennet Centre, open 9.00am – 5.00pm. Please post completed forms into the ballot boxes found at Parkway Shopping and The Kennet Centre Halloween workshop. Please note: The Halloween workshop in Parkway shopping is open 11.00am – 4.00pm. Pumpkin Carving, Cobbs Farm Shop, Hungerford

Our popular pumpkin carving event is back, this time for 7 days. Pick up a pumpkin and get creative in our carving tent this October Half Term. Come rain or shine our pumpkin carving tent is ready for action, open from Monday 23 to Sunday 29 October! Choose the perfect size pumpkin from our farm shop, pay for it and your entry ticket at our farm shop tills then head over to our carving tent where you’ll find all the tools required to make your very own masterpiece ready for Halloween. Entrance to the carving tent is £3.50 per child and includes a complimentary Halloween treat and squash to keep those creative juices flowing! Spooky Half Term at Squires Garden Centre, Windsor

Spooky create and grow October half term is back at Squires Garden Centre with lots of fun activities for children to take part in. Bring your children down from 26 – 31 October, 10.00am – 4.00pm, fancy dress is welcome! Activities will include; paint a glow in the dark skeleton (£3.50), Paint a terracotta pumpkin tea light holder (£5.50) or paint a ghostly garland (£4.50). There will also be a free spooktacular spot the difference and a creepy pumpkin trail around the garden centre. For more information click here.

Halloween Festival at Odds Farm Park, Wooburn Common

This Half Term from the 21 – 31 October, get ready for stacks of Halloween fun at Odds Farm! Enjoy fun Halloween entertainment, dress up in your creepiest costume to take part in the twice-daily fancy dress competitions and carve a pumpkin to take home with you! Halloween at The Oakley Court Hotel, Windsor

For those with slightly bigger budgets, from 27 – 31 October mummies and daddies can immerse themselves in the spooky world of Halloween with a limited edition Halloween themed afternoon tea, with a glass of fizz naturally (£39.50 per head). What’s more, children are welcome to join you for their own afternoon tea for £15.00 per child. Hallo’welly’ween at Wellington Country Park, Reading

Head down to Wellington Country Park with your little ghouls from 21 – 29 October for a ‘Spook’tacular week of fun. There will be lots of events and activities taking place including storytime, monster’s mischief and magic shows, a creepy craft room, scary face painting, a haunted Halloween train ride, pumpkin carving and much more! Brick or Treat, Legoland Windsor Resort

This October half term (14 -30 October) bring your little monsters to the Legoland Windsor Resort and get into the spooky spirit with the Brick or Treat event. Halloween Party, Junglemania, Woodley

Junglemania in Woodley will be hosting their annual Halloween party on Saturday 28 October, from 5.30 – 7.30pm. The party will be ticket only and likely to sell out quickly so get yours now to avoid any disappointment. Tickets are £8.50 per child and available at Junglemania or over the phone. Halloween at Bucklebury Farm, Reading

Kids Spooky Mini Disco, Holiday Inn, Maidenhead

Join us for a Spook-tacular kids disco on Friday 27 October from 3.00 – 6.00pm with Dave the Disco, face painting and bouncy castle. Jake’s Indoor Soft Play Spooky Halloween Fun, Sandhurst

Jake’s Halloween Party – come and join us on Halloween for an evening full of fun! There will be a fancy dress parade, apple bobbing, dangling donuts, spooky dip, as well as lots of fun in the soft play area itself. Plus enjoy a Halloween feast. Tuesday 31 October, 4.00 – 6.00pm.

Petrifying Pumpkin Trail at Black Park, Wexham

Take a spooky walk through the creeky woods of Black Park this half term from 23 – 27 October, 10.00am – 3.00pm. Pick up a map from the information point and head off on a trail, answering questions on the quiz sheet as you go to win yourself a treat (no tricks here!) There is a cost of £3.00 per map, and the car park at Black Park is pay and display.

Halloween Fun Day, Ockwells Park, Maidenhead

Come down to Ockwells Park in Cox Green on Sunday 29 October from 12.00 – 4.00pm, for an afternoon of all things Halloween. It will be a chance for the children to dress up (adults too!!) and enjoy some good old fashioned Halloween entertainment! For more information, click here.

Beale Park, Reading

Why not visit Beale Park on Wednesday 25 October, where they will be running a ‘Build a Bat Box’ workshop. For just £5, children will be able to build their own bat box to take home with them. 10.30am – 12.30pm.

There’s great fun in store for all the family with a “Batty Halloween Trail” from 23 – 31 October.  For just 50p you can enter the bat themed trail and prize draw to win some fantastic prizes.  Just look for the clues that will be dotted around the Park. For more information, click here.

The Creation Station, West Berkshire – Halloween Fun!

Join us for some spooktacular Halloween fun on 23 October from 10.30 – 11.30am at the Burdwood Centre, Thatcham! Paint a pumpkin and other craft activities as well as sensory play with eye ball jelly, slime making and apple painting! £7.50 per child, or £5.00 sibling rate. Halloween Family Activity Day, Shaw House, Newbury

On Wednesday 25 October 2017 come down to Shaw House in Newbury from 10.00am – 3.30pm, to make some scary skeletons with the kiddies. Make a spooky hanging decoration in the shape of a skeleton that both moves and glows in the dark! New Halloween trail also available. The activity day is £2.00 per child and is aimed at 4-11 year olds but younger and older siblings are welcome. No need to book, feel free just to drop in. For more information click here.

Hitcham Dairy Ice Cream Shop – Halloween Ice Cream

Hitcham Dairy is an ice cream shop based on Lent Rise Road in Burnham. As well as yummy ice cream all year round, they also have a great outdoor play area for children. This Halloween the Wizards have been at work and something strange has happened to their ice cream… Dare you try their spooktastic new ice cream flavours; Vampire Cookies, Herman Monster, Bat Droppings, Spiders Web and Toffee Apple. Busylizzy Halloween events, Reading

Busylizzy Reading will be running Halloween themed events on 26 and 27 October 2017. These Halloween specials include Baby Picassos, Baby Signing and Baby Music.
