Dorney Court Kitchen Garden (try saying that after a few glasses of prosecco) is pretty much always top of my list when thinking of somewhere to take the kiddies for lunch on a warm day. This place has it all… Children’s play area Tick Fantastic range of meals aimed at little taste buds Tick Gardens and pond Tick.
The wooden play area is enclosed and safe and consists of a dinky little house, a climbing wall, wooden fort with slide and ride-on tractors. There’s plenty of outdoor seating all within view of the play area, meaning you’ll get to enjoy a hot (well probably semi warm if we’re realistic) cuppa while the kiddies work up an appetite.
And this brings me on to the menu. You’ll be truly spoilt for choice here. Whether you just want drinks and a slice of something naughty, or a more substantial plate of deliciousness, you won’t be disappointed. My recommendation is the crab and chilli mayo on soda bread. That’s heaven right there. For your little ones you can choose from things like fish fingers, ham egg & chips, macaroni cheese, fishcakes, mini ploughmans or a lunch pack. See, meal perfection!
And after you’ve licked the plate (honestly, I never have…) there are really pretty gardens with a pond and a vegetable patch for a leisurely stroll. Finish it all off with ample parking and good toilet facilities / baby changing and you’re on to a winner.
