Pantomimes in Berkshire Christmas 2018

Who can resist the lure of traditional Christmas pantomimes? Men dressed as women, sweets hurled into the audience, no one frowning over your rowdy children, and some risqué gags for the parents thrown in for good measure. What’s not to love! We’ve pulled together a great list of family-friendly pantomimes in Berkshire this Christmas 2018.

 

The Hexagon, Reading – Aladdin

8 December 2018 – 6 January 2019

The 2018 family pantomime at The Hexagon in Reading will be Aladdin. And even more exciting is that Cbeebies superstar Justin Fletcher will once again be returning to Reading. Paul Morse, one of the most loved of Dames, has also confirmed he will once again be teaming up with Justin for some more sloshing around and slapstick high-jinx.

Tickets are now on sale, and following on from the success of last year’s Peter Pan, it’s advisable to book tickets in advance to secure the best seats and dates. Theatre Royal Windsor – Dick Whittington

23 November 2018 – 6 January 2019

This Christmas, Dick Whittington and his cat are getting ready to help celebrate 80 years of traditional pantomime at the beautiful Theatre Royal Windsor. Get ready for even more laughs, splosh and Days of Christmas than ever before. There will be new stars including Anne Hegarty, The Governess from The Chase, as well as your old favourites – Basil Brush is back! And not forgetting panto veteran Kevin Cruise and resident Dame Steven Blakeley who’ll be getting his frock on for the 10th year! Plus more stars to be announced soon!

Corn Exchange Newbury – Jack & the Beanstalk

30 November 2018 – 6 January 2019

Fee Fi Fo Fum, we smell lots of panto fun. Expect adventure, mayhem and a gigantic helping of magic in the Corn Exchange’s spectacular 2018/19 pantomime – Jack & the Beanstalk. Join Jack and the whole gang on an adventure of enormous proportions… from high-flying dreams to magical beans; prepare to be transported to the enchanted panto-land of Newbury Bottom, where anything is possible. Climb the beanstalk with Jack and enjoy high-energy dance routines, tunes to sing along to and plenty of audience participation, which will leave you on cloud nine! This ever-popular pantomime has become a fun-filled tradition for the families of Newbury and beyond.

South Hill Park, Bracknell – Dick Whittington & his Cat

With the success of Beauty and the Beast still ringing in the air, South Hill Park are pleased announce their 2018/19 family pantomime, Dick Whittington and his Cat. Join Dick Whittington and his Cat on their daring journey through the streets of London to seek fame and fortune. Will the streets be paved with gold? Will he defeat the dastardly King Rat? Will he win the hand of the lovely Alice?

The Pearce Suite Theatre at Magnet Leisure Centre, Maidenhead

22 December – 30 December 2018

You shall go to the ball as the most magical pantomime of them all arrives in Maidenhead this Christmas! Following the success of last year’s Aladdin, we’re delighted to announce that Cinderella will be at the Pearce Suite Theatre. The classic rags to riches tale will feature West End performers, popular songs and plenty of silliness. Expect lots of laugh-out-loud comedy, traditional audience participation, and enchanting and magical animated scenery. Ticket prices from £14.50.

Wycombe Swan, High Wycombe – Snow White & the Seven Dwarfs

7 December – 30 December 2018

This Christmas bring the kiddies to the fairest panto in all the land, staring none other than Strictly Come Dancing legend Brendan Cole in his pantomime debut! This year’s panto will be spectacularly bought to life with an abundance of comedy, sensational song and dance numbers, fabulous costumes and stunning scenery. Throw in a magical mirror, a beautiful princess, a handsome prince and plenty of audience participation as we outwit the Wicked Queen, and let love prevail in this glittering festive treat for all ages.

The Anvil, Basingstoke – Snow White & the Seven Dwarfs

13 December 2018 – 6 January 2019

Heigh-Ho, Heigh-Ho, it’s off to The Anvil we go for this year’s panto, Snow White & the Seven Dwarfs starring Dani Harmer (CBBC’s Tracy Beaker) and Chris Pizzey (Basil Brush’s Mr Stephen). Join the Wicked Queen, handsome prince, seven mischievous dwarfs, and Snow White herself, for festive fun packed full of glittering costumes, sumptuous sets, catchy songs, and heaps of audience participation. Mirror, mirror on the wall, this is the must-see panto of them all!

New Victoria Theatre, Woking – Cinderella

7 December 2018 – 6 January 2019

You shall go to the ball this Christmas with the spectacular family pantomime Cinderella, staring the fab-u-lous Craig Revel Horwood as the Wicked Stepmother! Packed with all of the traditional pantomime ingredients audiences expect, Cinderella features laugh-out-loud comedy, stunning scenery, beautiful costumes and plenty of boos and hisses. Join Cinders as she goes from rags to riches, outwits her very Ugly Sisters, and meets her dashing Prince Charming. Tickets from £14.00.
