If you’re looking to unleash your little ones creativity, and grab a cuppa and cake at the same time then the Mad Hatters Pottery and Painting Café is a great place to visit. We spent a wet and windy afternoon huddled in the warmth of the Sandhurst shop, and it was the perfect retreat. The staff there are warm and welcoming and always ready to give you a hand and offer advice. We managed to get a large wooden table to ourselves and set up ready to get arty. There’s a huge choice of pottery items waiting to be decorated, including things like plates, fun statues, cups, tea pots, hand and footprint keepsakes and much more.
The kiddies loved decorating their chosen dolphin statue and dinner plate, and we couldn’t help but get involved with our own painting too! They happily sat for an hour painting, lost in their own little worlds. There’s also a café area where you can get a hot or cold drink and snacks while you’re painting.
You’ll find free parking outside the shop, and inside there are customer toilets with baby changing facilities. Pre-booking by telephone is essential to reserve a table and avoid disappointment.
Mad Hatters is based in Sandhurst and Tilehurst making it convenient for large parts of Berkshire. We’d highly recommend it for a morning or afternoon out with the kiddies doing something fun and engaging.
