The Borrowers Christmas 2017, The Watermill Theatre, Newbury

Quick, clever and only four inches tall, The Borrowers live happily under the floorboards of a huge house. Bold young Arrietty dreams of exploring the big blue-skied world above their cosy home. The Carnival of the Animals: Lantern Making Workshop – Norden Farm, Maidenhead

Get ready to join the parade! This is a workshop for children and parents to weave and decorate willow to create lanterns inspired by the animal world. Workshops take place on Sunday 19 November at Norden Farm in Maidenhead. Lanterns created at these family workshops will be illuminated at Norden Farm’s annual Lantern Parade on Saturday 9 December. Suitable for all ages and all the family. £4 per person. (Please note a space must be booked for every person attending the workshop – including supervising adults).

Windsor Christmas Lights &/ Lantern Parade

Saturday 18 November 2017

With the majestic Windsor Castle as the backdrop and a live programme of entertainment throughout the afternoon this is an event not to be missed. There will be a children’s lantern procession, carol singing and food stalls all culminating in the switching on of the Christmas lights with the cast from Theatre Royal Windsor’s Panto – Sleeping Beauty. Entertainment starts from 3.30pm. The Windsor Castle wall will also feature the annual Christmas projections.

Bracknell Christmas Lights, The Lexicon

Saturday 18 November 2017

Christmas at The Lexicon will start on Saturday 18 November 2017, when the town centre will undergo a magical transformation as the Bracknell Christmas lights are switched-on. In keeping with The Lexicon’s celebration of the borough’s amazing forest and green spaces, the lights will feature fabulous mistletoe, ivy and holly highlighted by classical white lights.

The illumination starts this weekend in Princess Square at 5.30pm, when to the accompaniment of a choir from Garth Hill College, the Forest Snow Queen will wave her wand to activate the lights. She will then parade through the town centre, lighting-up the avenues and walks as she goes, finishing in Bond Square with the switch-on of The Lexicon’s Christmas tree lights. Bracknell & Wokingham Community Band will play festive carols and tunes, with everyone invited to join in with a Christmas sing-a-long, followed at 7.30pm by a festive performance from local choir, Vocalese. The excitement will build from 3.00pm as festive entertainers, local musicians and choirs will perform throughout The Lexicon, providing a magical Christmas atmosphere.

Slough Christmas Lights & Fireworks

Kick off the festive season with an afternoon of fun, fireworks, music and dancing at the Slough Christmas lights switch on event this weekend! And all for FREE! Singing and dancing galore will be taking place on stage from 1.00pm, plus giveaways, competitions and much more. Santa joins the fun on stage for the 5.00pm switch on, the sky lights up with fireworks and ‘snow’ tumbles through the air.

Reading Town Centre Christmas Afternoon

On Saturday 18 November, more than 450,000 magical lights and an eight metre tall bauble tree will be illuminated in Reading town centre during the afternoon. There will also be festive live music taking place in Broad Street for all the family to enjoy. The perfect set up for some early Christmas shopping, or a family mooch.

Windsor’s Rise from the Ashes – Family Saturdays at Windsor Castle

On Saturday 18 November, from 11.00am – 3.00pm, bring the children to Windsor Castle for November Family Saturdays.

Celebrate the 20th anniversary of the restoration of Windsor Castle after the great fire by taking part in our special art and craft activities for families. The activities are free with a standard entry ticket so you can enjoy the Castle at the same time.

Reindeer Hunt 2017, Newbury

The Newbury Reindeer Hunt 2017 takes place from 11 – 19 November 2017 in the town centre.

This weekend, follow the trail around Newbury Town Centre for your chance to win a ride in Santa’s sleigh at the parade on the 26 November. Forms will be available to download from www.visitnewbury.org.uk from the 11 November 2017. Christmas Fayre and Fun Dog Show, Trindledown Farm, Great Shefford

19 November 2017

Come along to our annual Christmas Fayre where we will have lots of stalls selling a variety goods. We will be inviting outside stall holders to join us as well has having our own stalls raising money for the animals in our care. On offer will be decorations, festive food and drink, gifts for people and pets, and you can even write to Santa Paws!

We will also be holding a fun dog show along side. So bring along your four legged friend to take part. Classes include Merriest Mutt, Mr Clause, Mrs Clause, Re-Ho-Ho-Homed, Santa’s Seniors, Festive Fancy Dress.

Breakfast or Tea with Father Christmas – Wyevale Garden Centre

From 18 November – 24 December, Christmas will be descending on Wyevale Garden Centres across Berkshire. Bring your little ones along and enjoy a delicious, freshly-prepared breakfast or tea! The whole family meets Santa, children decorate a festive biscuit and then choose their very own present to take home. Available in Thatcham, Hungerford, Wokingham, Winnersh, Binfield, Reading, Windsor and Hare Hatch. For more information click here.
