Carters Steam Fair, Holyport
This weekend Carters Steam Fair is coming to Holyport Green on Saturday 14 and Sunday 15 October. The fair is free to get in to, and the rides operate on a token basis. You can buy tokens on the day at the fair, or online here now. The rides are suitable for all ages and include: carousels, Chairoplane, Dodgems, Austin Cars, Swing Boats, Train Ride, hook a duck, mini boats and lots more. You’ll also find plenty to fill tummies with food and drink vans, candy floss and sweets and treats. For families with slightly older children there’s a not-to-be-missed free fireworks display at 9.00pm on Saturday 14 October.

Autumn Deer Safaris, Bucklebury Farm Park
Saturday 14 & Sunday 15 October 2017. Make an early start for one of the highlights of the year in the deer park, the Autumn rut… Hear the stags roaring and glimpse the clash of antlers through the morning mist. The early start and fresh air will make that Full English breakfast taste all the better!

English Civil War Family Fun Day, West Berkshire Museum, Newbury
Saturday 14 October 2017, 10.00am – 3.00pm – Free event
Are you a Roundhead or a Cavalier? Make up your mind at our free English Civil War Family Fun Day. Drop-in and meet the historical re-enactors from the English Civil War Society in period costume who will tell you about life in 17th century West Berkshire as well as demonstrate skills and crafts that you can have a go at. There will be a themed trail and also an opportunity to handle replica objects, and colour in a scene of the English Civil War with a chance to win museum goodies!

Creepy Creations: Halloween Lego Brick Workshop, Reading Museum
Saturday 14 October 2017, sessions run from 10.00am to 2.15pm. £13.00 per person, booking is essential.

Autumn Colour Festival, Jealotts Hill, Bracknell
Sunday 15 October 2017, 10.00am – 2.00pm at Jealotts Hill Community Landshare
Come down to Jealotts Hill Community Landshare this Sunday for a fun family friendly adventure. There will the opportunity to explore the 6 acre site, visit the orchard and the vineyard, and get involved in apple juice pressing. There will be refreshments, bric a brac and plants for sale. Admission and parking is all free. Please join us for a countryside walk in support of BBC Children in Need, from 10.00am – midday. The walk will start from and return to the JHCL car park. There’s a suggested donation of £5.00 for the walk.

Brick or Treat at Legoland Windsor Resort
This October bring your little monsters to the LEGOLAND® Windsor Resort and get into the Halloween spirit with our Brick or Treat event. Roller Disco at Magnet Leisure Centre, Maidenhead
Saturday 14 October 2017, 3.00 – 7.30pm. Come down to Magnet Leisure Centre in Maidenhead for a children’s roller disco, great music and great fun for all the family! The Big Draw at Windsor Castle, Saturday 14 October
This October, children can take part in the World’s biggest festival of art and drawing at Windsor Castle. After being inspired by the beautiful surroundings of the Castle, come along to our drop-in art workshop and create your own masterpiece to take home. The sessions run from 11.00am – 4.00pm every Saturday in October and Half Term. The event is free with a standard entry ticket.

Mega Diwali Festival 2017, Reading
Saturday 14 October is the biggest and oldest Diwali Festival in town. Come down to Rivermead Complex in Reading from 4.00 – 11.00pm, for a great family friendly event with lots going on. There will be fun fair rides, activities for children to take part in, food and drinks stalls, a DJ, the famous photo booth, competitions, a cultural programme, and loads more. Hampshire’s OctoberFest, Basingstoke
Hampshire’s OctoberFest is a fantastic family festival held at Basingstoke Cricket and Sports Club from 13 – 15 October 2017, attracting over 8000 visitors annually. The festival has a huge variety of real ale from across the region with nearly 220 different beers and ciders, and new for this year – craft ales will be sold in a third quiet marquee. This fun weekend is also full of children’s and family activities and live entertainment. This year we also have a dedicated marquee (Sunday only) for Family Fun including Children’s Theatre and Circus Skills. The event hosts some fantastic catering and craft stalls to visit.
