Carters Steam Fair, Holyport Village – 14 & 15 October 2017

Carters Steam Fair, Holyport Village – 14 & 15 October 2017

Carters Steam Fair is a magical and exciting experience for children (and if you’re like me, adults too). And just in case you’ve somehow managed to miss all the signs going up around town it’s coming to Holyport Village Green on Saturday 14 and Sunday 15 October 2017.

Carters Steam Fair is a unique attraction which started in 1977 – it’s an authentic travelling funfair entirely consisting of rare vintage equipment. The organisers and fair workers live in vintage showman’s wagons and caravans, and the whole fair is moved from place to place with a highly-decorated fleet of vintage lorries. It’s now believed to be the largest vintage travelling funfair in the world, and travels every week of the season, from Easter to Bonfire Night each year. Carters brings the thrills and delights of the traditional fairground to towns and villages throughout London, the Home Counties and beyond each year.

Bring the family down to Holyport Village Green from Saturday 14 to Sunday 15 October 2017. The fair is free to get in to, and the rides operate on a token basis. You can buy tokens on the day at the fair, or online here now. Rides include: carousels, Chairoplane, Dive Bomber, Giant Octopus, Dodgem, Lightening Skid, Austin Cars, Swing Boats, Toy Town, Train Ride, and so much more. Want to see more about the rides before you visit? Click here. There’s plenty to occupy smaller children too with hook a duck, mini boat and train ride and lots more.

You’ll also find plenty to fill tummies with food and drink vans, candy floss and sweets and treats. For families with slightly older children there’s a not-to-be-missed free fireworks display at 9.00pm on Saturday 14 October.
