October Half Term Harvest Fun 2017, Savill Garden

Visit the Savill Garden at Windsor Great Park for a feast of harvest family fun activities this October half term. From gigantic pumpkins, free children’s crafts and special children’s tours, there’s so much fun to be had in the great outdoors.

From the 21 – 29 October, The Creation Station will be back at the Savill Garden offering free children’s crafts when accompanied by a paying adult. Every day between 11.00am and 3.00pm, children can make their very own Harvest Time Masterpiece or a crown to transform into a magical PumpKing or Queen.

For the entire half term break (21 October – 5 November) the Savill Garden will offer mini horticulturists a new Giant Pumpkin Activity Trail. Families can follow the Park Explorers trail with characters Pete and Poppy, on their colourful journey to find carved Pumpkins that have been placed around the Garden. The activity leaflet is packed full of games and fun facts, as well as some cool stuff for adults too. Activity leaflets cost just £3.50 and each child who takes part will receive a prize.

Families visiting on weekdays during half term (23 – 27 October) can don their wellies and take part in a free children’s tours of the garden*. Meeting at 10.30am, a tour guide will lead children and their adults on a fascinating one hour journey through the Garden, taking in some hidden treasures and autumnal delights.

There are plenty of tasty treats on offer in the Savill Garden Kitchen for those feeling peckish after all the Harvest half term excitement. Indulge in Harvest Specials including pumpkin muffins and cakes, as well as hearty autumn lunches and perfect pizzas from the onsite wood fired ovens.

*The children’s tour of the garden is suitable for 6-11 year olds. Children must be accompanied by a paying adult. No booking fee required but spaces are limited.

Admission to the Garden: £9.75 per adult. Children (16 years and under) are free.

Top tip – If you’re a resident of Windsor & Maidenhead and have an Advantage Card you can get adult entry to the garden 2 for the price of 1 when you show your card. You can also get parking for free when you pay to get in to the garden. Ask for a ticket when leaving the Garden at the reception desk.
