We took a trip over to Jake’s in Sandhurst on a typically British rainy July day, and not even the torrential outbursts could stop us enjoying every minute.
They have a giant indoor playbarn which is suitable for children up to 11 years. The playbarn is three floors high with a three lane wave slide, a snake slide, ball canons, a mini football court and an interactive games mat. There’s also a specific area for under 4’s with climbing areas, a slide, interactive panels and a baby sensory area.
Outside, you can get up close and personal with some of the resident furry and feathered friends on the Mini Farm. There are sheep, goats, alpacas, pigs, mini Shetland ponies, rabbits, guinea pigs, ferrets, chickens, guinea fowl and peacocks (and, breathe). And don’t miss the star of the show, Victor the giant tortoise!
There’s also two large fishing lakes which I’ve heard make for a lovely walk, the monsoon meant we missed out on that bit – there’s an obstacle course to follow, bird watching towers, a tooth fairy door hunt and animal passports to stamp.
Throw into the mix a large playground complete with climbing frames and a pirate ship, a sandpit and ride-on cars, and you’ll find something to keep everyone happy. There’s plenty of picnic areas for munching on cocktail sausages or a restaurant onsite for hot and cold drinks, snacks and meals. During peak times don’t miss the regular animal handling sessions, mini train ride and panning for gold.
