What better way to spend a glorious sunny day when the kiddies are off school than in a pool. Wycombe Rye Lido was named one of Britain’s top 20 lidos and it’s easy to see why. The pools here are heated and open all year round for those of you brave enough, although for my slightly whingey children I think we’ll stick to summer months for now. And, if you fancy popping along in the evening for a relaxing swim sans children, the pool has lovely underwater lighting and stays open late so you can enjoy a dip at sunset! Ooh là là.
A watch out, obviously the lido can get very busy on sunny days and they stop letting people in when they’re at capacity. You can now beat the queue and buy tickets online though which I think is well worth doing, if you just want to turn up though make sure you get there early. You also need change for the carpark.
